The air intake and exhaust have been improved in the \'99 model to ensure the engine pumps out plenty of power at all revs - from the low range right through to the high end. The number of reed valves on the air intake has been increased from four to six. Also, the timing on both the intake and exhaust ports has been altered to make the bike easier to handle and give it better response at lower speeds. At 58.2 PS, the maximum power output is 2.7 PS higher than the \'98 model.
