The Silver Wing 400 is equipped with a liquid-cooled 4-stroke parallel 2-cylinder engine with a displacement of 398cc. To compensate for the difference in displacement with the 600cc version, only the 400cc version is equipped with a mechanism called \"T mode\"" that increases torque in the medium and low speed range. It was intended to be used mainly for climbing hills (T mode was later adopted for the 600cc version as well)."
